About CONNECT ~
West Lothian

~ What we do ~

I am excited to be in a position to provide therapy in collaboration with a community development project in the heart of West Lothian. Just as there is an increasing need for mental health awareness and appropriate support, it is evident that those in most need of receiving a service are less likely to receive one.

It is important to me that such support becomes more accessible and affordable to those who would otherwise not be able to access it when required.

The ethos behind CONNECT is not just about helping you access the support you need but making sure that counselling is the right support for you in helping you move forward. Sometimes it may be about helping you to access other means of support and putting you in touch with the right professional.

I am a Qualified Social Worker (registered with the SSSC) with over 14 years experience working with children, families and young people using trauma informed practice and the secure base model, promoting attachment and resilience throughout all areas of child and adolescent development.

I have also supported foster and kinship carers applying the Solihull Approach, to promote the understanding of children's behaviour in the context of their development and early childhood experiences.

Additionally, I’ve worked with adults applying cognitive behavioural therapy methods with those seeking to overcome unhealthy patterns of behaviour such as addiction, anger management, depression / anxiety.

During the covid pandemic I completed the COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy Scotland) Certificate and more recently, I have been studying for the Diploma in Couple & Family Counselling (accredited by Glasgow Caledonian University through the Institute of Counselling, Scotland).
